A student’s success largely depends on effective supervision. This training is designed to help guide our IMPRS-IS doctoral researchers on how to become effective supervisors, as many of them begin this new role of supervisor the first time during the doctorate.
Date: Friday, November 24, 2023 Time: 9:30 - 12:30 CET Location: Online Trainer: Dr. Paul-Christian Bürkner
What are standard student supervision practices? How much time should a supervisor devote to one student? Beginning this process for the first time can be demanding.
The supervisory role is also sometimes be challenging due to different ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds amongst team members.
The goal of this training is to offer our supervising scholars with strategies for proper supervision. The training describes the ways in which supervisors can support and engage students while still balancing their other professional demands. It will also elaborate on ways in which to develop routines that will aid in the creation of an effective and efficient working relationship.
