Culture Club is designed to help acclimate international colleagues to our community and get them better acquainted with life in Germany. Relocating to a new country can be challenging; therefore, we thought it would be nice to offer IMPRS-IS scholars a way to meet new people, make friends, discuss intercultural topics, learn helpful tips about navigating life in Germany, and make the most of their time in the Tübingen and Stuttgart area.
We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the next Culture Club meeting being held on Friday, April 1st from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The topic will be — Find Housing in the Area. We will discuss topics such as what it means to get a German residency card, how and where to get one, general requirements, and more.
What: Culture Club Date: Friday, April 1, 2022 When: 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Location: Online (Zoom) Meeting Topic: Finding Local Housing As a reminder, Culture Club is designed to help acclimate international colleagues to our community and get them better acquainted with life in Germany. Relocating to a new country can be challenging; therefore, we thought it would be nice to offer our colleagues and their significant others a way to meet new people, make friends, discuss intercultural topics, learn helpful tips about navigating life in Germany, and make the most of their time in the Tübingen/Stuttgart area. The MPI-IS Culture Club is open to everyone! German nationals who want to meet colleagues and socialize are encouraged to attend. We envision this group as any collective of individuals who enjoy discussing cultural topics and want an opportunity to socialize with peers. Our vision is to create an informative yet social experience offered in the form of monthly, hour-long meetings each featuring a different topic. The format includes a 10-minute informative talk followed by time to connect and share personal experiences. Again, it is our goal to offer an inclusive space where international colleagues, significant others, and German allies can receive info about getting acclimated in a new cultural environment. It will also be a place to meet, have fun, and share experiences with people in similar situations who share common interests. We hope that you will join us for the next gathering of the MPI-IS Culture Club!
Zoom links for this group are sent to all IMPRS-IS and Max Planck Institute mailing lists. With problems or questions about obtaining the link to join, please write Sara Sorce (sara.sorce@tuebingen.mpg.de).
